Picture
It started with  a great idea, now a product line! From comic books to animated videos, PTSD Hero Comics does it all...and in such a fresh way! These printed graphic novels and web-comics are for adults, and get this...they're good for you! A psychologist at Landing Strong wrote 'em so you can feel good about putting your feet up and perusing the artwork because it's great for your mental wellness. Fuel Graphics partnered with Seagram and Associates to make the whole thing possible.  Purchase the printed edition with workbook  on Amazon here.

Issue #1 the enemy Within

Issue number one  introduces Jay, a soldier who's just finished four tours in Afghanistan. On the surface it looks like he's got everything he could want: an amazing wife, a healthy son, a new truck, and a nice house.

Jay has just returned home, for good this time, and is having trouble adjusting to civilian life. He's hanging out in the basement, but not with his family. Empties are strewn on the floor, and his temper is out of control. To make matters worse, he hasn't been sleeping well. When he does sleep, he often thrashes about wildly. His wife Lindsey isn't getting much sleep either, and she's more than a little worried about sleeping next to Jay.

Things don't look too bright for our hero, until a chance meeting with a stranger brings about a small but significant change in his outlook. The stranger, who is himself a veteran, recognizes Jay's plight and knows what it's like to return home after deployment.

This chance encounter, and the events that unfold, set Jay on a path that may well change his life.

issue #2 Hero to zero

Issue number two begins with Jay at home planning some family time. Tensions rise when he sees raw meat on the BBQ, triggering a series of events.

Hitting rock bottom is tough, and it drives Lindsey and Kai away from Jay. Remorseful, he manages to venture out to help a friend, and maybe clear his head. It's a rare moment, but he takes that first step towards reclaiming himself when he accepts an offer to meet with some like-minded friends of Daves'...

issue #3 hiding In plain sight

Picking up right where Hero To Zero ends , Jay is in town with some pals having coffee. An otherwise pleasant day goes sideways at sound of a baby crying, and some aggressive traffic. His reality shifts and somehow he finds himself re-living an event which haunts him; Transported back to a time and place he'd rather forget!

Years spent learning to ramp up in the military, have made it difficult to gear down at home. Through the timely intervention of his friends, Jay is able to gather himself and dust off. In doing so, he reveals some of his darkest moments. It's also the catalyst for a breakthrough moment when he realizes that operational stress injuries are more common than he thought!
